"Are You Ready"
Do you know where you are headed?
Will it be long from now or just another day?
Are you ready for the life that is shredded,
or for what else may come your way?
Are you ready for this Life's struggle?
Can you climb each mountain as life so heavy does weigh?
Are you ready for the depth of each valley,
and to know darkness and for light not a ray?
Are you ready to drink from life's fountain,
and all this world may unselfishly lend?
Are you ready for your heart to be broken,
and to know its mending again and again?
Are you ready for tears that will often overflow,
and for emotions so strong no one life could express it so?
Are you ready for death whether it be you or a friend,
and do you know where you are headed?
Is the journey quite long or is it just around the bend,
and do you know where you are headed when this short life does end?
In this valley I shortly have traveled,
and if I could, I would do it again.
Deuteronomy 11:11. but
the land, whither ye go over to
possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh
water of the rain of heaven,
12. a land which Jehovah thy God
careth for: the eyes of Jehovah thy God
are always upon it, from the beginning of the
year even unto the end of the year.
Psalms 45:1. My heart overfloweth with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
In this life I've loved and been loved. I've hurt and I've been hurt. I've experienced so much but I want to experience it all. As we grow older we find that's all it is, for I'm not growing old but I am growing older. Each day gone is one less day to enjoy and to express all that God shares or better , all that I will recognize. That first love was not my last but my last love is my first. I'll never feel sixteen again but I won't feel fifty again either. This one thing is certain that though I'm growing older; I'm feeling, sharing and living life more than I ever knew possible. I have so much to express that seems to be unspeakable and only a sunset can convey. I sit with pen in hand and though the words are flowing; it's God's given meaning that only His child can know. Each our lives have a beginning and an end but is that in between our life's story is told. So today I give you a smile, an investment in you. It will grow to laughter and will come home to me again. Be sad, hurt, confused; yes be all of these things but stop to smell the roses and run occasionally in the rain. May God Really Bless You! Keep Shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance; you pray for me.
