Merry Christmas

Bro. Bob & Regina Wood

Lord today in our life as we and each one prays;

Help us understand Merry Christmas felt in so many ways.

Some have troubles great and some know little their own fate.

While there are some that never meet a stranger;

There are others  always afraid and in constant danger.

Some see only the night and do their best to hold on tight.

While many find this a time to be cheery and bright;

Some are hurting in the fight and have sorrow of such height.

This year for many Christmas will be dark late at night.

Let us with joy and blessings so bright to be a reflector of His Light.

Written Bro. Bob Wood

Luke 2:1.  And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. 2. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)  3. And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.   4. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)  5. To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.  6. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.  8. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  9. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  10. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  12. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  13. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  14. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Tis the season to be jolly does not really happen for many each year at this Christmas time.  Every year folks go at Christmas with the attitude of shopping and family schedules leaving most totally exhausted.  We have all heard folks explain how Christmas is for children, for family, or a time to have a party.  Santa has been more emphasized than Christ with most stating Happy Holidays,  Christmas used to bring in the big money but now merchants want to shake their fist at God and they try to remove Christ from His own birthday.  Let's remember as well, some folks this year have one gone on to heaven that they love and miss very much.  Yes, they are happy their loved one went to heaven but they sure left a vacant place here.  Yes, Christ does heal them, watch them and love them but sometimes they feel so lonely.

A little boy was about to go to the barn in the dark.  His mother told him that he need not fear because God was with him.  He said, "That was fine but he needed someone with skin on them."

God sends us the privilege and the blessing of friends.  This year let the Christmas Light reflect from you to those in the dark.
