"Goodbyes"

Today  many in spirit feel so low.

A fire shouldn't smolder but glow.

Arise and believe no more the lies.

God is here; open wide your eyes.

Come closer now and feel the fire.

You can't jump while in the mire.

That robe you wear is not a disguise.

God is here now and He is wise.

Look no more on this world's demise.

It's not of this world that you aspire.

And the troubles today are not dire.

God is here; open wide your eyes.

 Bid troubles on its way and goodbye.

Isaiah 60: 1. Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. 2. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. 4. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

 While Christians are doing business as usual; we are beginning to blend with the world.  Our job is not to blend with the world but to shine in the darkness.  While we play republican & democrat, discuss racism, gender choice, abortion, and gender dominance, our eyes are not focused on the prize.  Old preachers want to keep all as usual, and young preachers want to take the usual apart and both seem to be missing the mark  We try gimmicks, programs, fund raising and even compete with one another.  We are continual lifetime students and most apply very little of what we have absorbed.  We have more degrees than a thermometer but rather than raise the temperature, we are climate controlled.  It does not matter if you are purpose driven or spirit driven if you neglect either.  Most Christians in name do not really believe in a literal hell or they would be witnessing.  Many use the excuse that we do not want to talk them into anything.  We forget that the reason it is called witnessing is because we are allowed to see it happen.  You do not do it and you do not mess it up.  Many people have recited a prayer or a group of words and then being told that they are saved.  You become at the age of accountability when the Holy Spirit reveals to you that you are lost.  You are not under conviction but are convicted and told and know you are guilty.  You then realize through hearing the word that Christ is the Way.  You can accept or reject.  Our soul will spend eternity in one of two places, heaven or hell.  Our hearts should be on Christ and to be likeminded as He.  Instead we would rather debate that God is kicked out of school and we're not allowed to pray.  The truth is that God goes to school everyday with those that are born again.  Prayer is used freely at school by teachers and students alike at test time.  We believe the devil's lies very quickly because it places a Band-Aid on a cancer.  We can argue baptism, music, denomination, Calvinism, tongues, prayer language, color of carpet in the hall, dress code and more but we are missing the mark.  Many go on mission trips as entertainment, a trip or a vacation, when we should realize that this is another door opened by God to allow us to witness His work of saving souls.  America was called one nation under God for a reason and yes to the disagreement to many; we are to tell the world about Christ.  If we do not go there; He brings them to our door.  Our job as Lights of the world is to shine.  We reflect the Light of Christ.  We walk in the Light as He is the Light.  We are reflectors that are polished and empowered by the oil of the Holy Spirit.  Many of us are not shining brightly because we have been covered by the dust of this world, the wood hay and stubble of what we can accomplish.  We need polishing so that we can shine, show His life, and we can feel His warmth and power.  Keep shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance; you pray for me.
