"Just Yesterday"

Just yesterday far away, seems a life long ago, in a different time, a different place and a different way.

Yesterday too seems but just a momemt yet out of reach, with life too quick to learn and much too slow to teach.

A day not very long ago we so hoped our life would age but the day so quickly happened by merely turning the page.

The sun will rise and it will set, so live life to the fullest while it is not darkness yet.

We are born and we will die and in life's troubles we will often ponder why.

This life will have storms and there will be pain but life will go on as we survive the rain.

This life will shine most when in the light, so to shine we must live today and not in the night.

Life is not yesterday nor is it far away but is this moment to be lived now today.

Just yesterday I met myself brand new and will do it many times again before this life is through.

This life is not as long as our early years did think or say, for though long ago, now seems as Just Yesterday.

Job 8: 9 .. (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:) 10 .. Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart? 11 .. Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

Psalms 90: 4 .. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. 5 .. Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. 6 .. In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

Philippians 4: 8 .. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Being a pastor I have heard some remarkable things folks have said. One man quite old in age told, "as much money as I give, I should have more say so in church." The same one said, "I am as close to God as I can get." One lady told me, "she had nothing to praise God for." Then there are those who have said that they will kill themselves and some that I have known, have done so. It is strange how we see today as the only life we have, have had or will ever have, when what we should do is live our life as though this day will be the last one we will live on this earth. Most often we see the worst of life and forget how much joy that we have had. Our life is simple yet we make it more and more complex. Some of our greatest joys have been the simplest of events, like playing in the snow as a child, staying up late, falling in love, that first kiss or that first date, seeing your child as they learn and grow, seeing a sunset, new fallen snow, a rose in the rain, the man in the moon, a walk in the rain, playing cowboys or cowgirls, playing house, I love you notes or I like you do you like me, learning to ride a bike, learning to drive and of course the list is too long to continue. God's Word tell us that if there be any virtue to think on these things. In other words life will most certainly be full of trouble but praise God more for the good that you have known rather than complaining of the bad. Go out and find a blessing today and if a blessing today seems hard to find; be one. May God Really Bless You!. Keep shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance, you pray for me.
