"Let Me Live"
Lord, the first time I saw her face; I was only three
but somehow knew she was the one for me.
All that I ask is that I may live for another day, her face to see.
She's so giggly with skinny legs and snaggled teeth.
Let me live and be patient to see what our future does bequeath.
We started out by learning to walk but now our life has turned into a run.
It seems but yesterday that our life was just begun and our time has been too fast but fun.
You've been by my side as we've worked and saved and you've stayed by my side no matter how life's road was paved.
Tell me my wife, when did we become old?
We missed it somehow with each other to hold.
Our life has been short and it looks like now you will leave.
Pain has hit you so hard, with this cancer of disease.
Lord, I ask you to let me live to take care of her, If You please.
Lord when You take her; let it be as gentle as possible for both her and me.
Lord, I feel quite empty though love be all around
for You see, I still listen for her voice to sound.
I hope I don't seem ungrateful Lord for this precious gift You've shared.
Lord today I have but one other prayer, that as you let me live; let it be close to you, that I may ever know you are there.
Ephesians 5: 21. Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. 22. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26. That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30. For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
It is amazing how love works. We always hear of the troubled marriages and so called dysfunctional families. The truth is that so many are happily married and we are sometimes amazed with those that are not. God gives us the gift of love and the reason He says until death do us part, is because our life together on this earth is so very short.
The truth is we begin our walk together and often one of us must finish this walk alone. Love your Wife, your husband, your family today because tomorrow comes so quickly. Don't wait until you retire to enjoy those special moments, use that special china, or wear those special clothes. They just simply do not mean the same when you are alone. Keep shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance; you pray for me. May God Really Bless You!
