Lord Today

Lord today with each wind You use to guide me, make me as the tree by the river to be, less like me and more like Thee

Lord today guide me through drought and Summer heat, to know the root beneath my feet

Lord today though there is Summer hot and Winter snow; give me bud and give me branch that I may grow

Lord today though the winds still blow and snow does fall, help me to stand more strong and grow most tall

Lord today though I feel quite small; I feel most content and know your strength as on Your name I call

Lord today as I go along, help me to know who that I am and make me more pure and cause me to be strong

Psalms 1: 3 ... And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper

I recently found that a Maple tree in my yard was about to split because it had a limb that should have been taken care of some years back

The tree appeared to be the best in the yard but it had a problem that was growing worse with time

It was the wrong time of year to prune the tree but I had to cut anyway

The sap literally poured out as I cut that big limb

I hoped that this tree would not die but then I remembered the ice, snow, wind, heat and storms that this one of God's creations had already withstood

In this life too we face many storms

We are often hurt and suffer loss but through it all God will allow us to grow more strong

That tree has put on new buds and new little branches

It will grow harder to fill the gap of that removed branch

It will not give up

Many times in our lives God will have to remove a few branches but He will heal our wounds that we may grow

You might be at a very hard time in your life or you may be recovering from a storm but be assured that this is not your life but merely one of the storms

There will be many more bright days and yes there will be more storms. Life will again be hot and it will be cold but also remember God still holds that thermostat

He is in control and just because you did not get a yes to your prayer does not mean that He did not answer it. He is answering our prayers with yes, no and wait

He is handling our life and for that we are thankful. Today look more at the blessings and less for the storms

Keep shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance, you pray for me
