"One Million Dreams"

Since a boy of only three it seems;

I've had more than a million dreams.

I loved my Dad and loved my Mom too;

To be like them would be the best that I could do.

I had an Uncle a carpenter that built so straight and true;

  Also, he could preach the gospel to let the light shine through.

Mom and I worked in the fields from sunup until sundown

But never did these hard times keep us down.

Since a boy of only three it seems;

I've had more than a million dreams.

I've traveled all around this whole wide world

But I fell in love with my wife, a beautiful girl.

You're not old until your dreams are through;

So I've got another million dreams yet left to do.

I've been allowed such an adventurous life.   When in elementary school in Milan, Tennessee, while discussing our grandparents; I told about my Granddad and the stories he had told of knowing Billy the Kid.  I couldn't imagine that some of the kids just didn't believe it.  I was allowed to have sharecroppers as parents that later became lifelong educators to improve and enjoy our way of life.  We have traveled all over and we find we fit in with folks everywhere.  Oh, I had dreams of being an Agriculture teacher and a coach but now I am privileged to coach and teach in a way that I never dreamed.  My wife has accepted this gospel ministry too as the way of life.  When one old fellow was asked if he had lived here all of his life, he said "not yet."  This is the way it should be for all.  We have grandchildren and children the finest.  Our dreams are just beginning.  Don't just listen but sing!  Keep shining, keep dreaming and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance; you pray for me.  May God Really Bless You!
