"Remember The Spring"

In the Spring of Life, when we are born, or we are just wed, and as if a Child we explore, grass, water and fire; the Simple things; All is Alive, and none to us is dead.

Then comes the Summer life, when in our Spring, all we've been given, it now begins to grow and often change.

Our Children grow and our bodies are strong. We work and play, with no end in sight, because we remember the Spring, when none to us is dead.

Then comes the Autumn Life, when our work is nearly complete, and our children no longer sit at our feet.

We are allowed to see the Colors, Our tracks in life, and to Reap what we have sown; life cools down and now our Grandchildren sit at our feet.

We rest and reflect back to the Summer of droughts and floods, And yet our minds still slip back to Spring, when all, Even we Dear were new, because none to us was dead.

Then comes the Winter Life, when often we have known, that one of us may face this season alone.

Maybe I'll hold your hand or for one last time, You'll hold mine.

We'll find Winter's gift of icicles and flakes of snow, which hide our pain of the death of Spring.

And especially now, our mind will drift back to that Spring, When all things were new.

Now with this thought when we are grieved and it seems we can't go on; We are given the most precious gift.

Yes that of Spring, when once again all things and You and I together again, will be new And none to us is dead.

To my Best Friend, My Wife

Written by Bob Wood 9--1-98

Ecclesiastes 9:9  Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.  10. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.  11.  I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

I have learned this life is very short.  We face days that at times seem like there is just no way to win.  We sometimes fail and we sometimes succeed.  I have learned that the best way to measure success is by what I truly feel inside.  I have learned that I can love myself because I know God truly does love me.  Everyday someone will think badly of you but someone will think kindly too.  In our life things will bust, break, sag and either fall off or fall down.  With all this being said, I have learned that no matter what ; God is still in charge.  Enjoy that family today because today is the present a gift from God.  I have never heard anyone say I wish that I had not spent so much time with my wife and children.  Work hard but enjoy God's present.  Keep shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance; you pray for me.  May God Really Bless You!
