I preached today the Lord is near but in Jesus Christ there is no fear.
It is now time Christians come from the closet into the light as this is truly the way God gives His sight.
We are new creatures of the day not of the night and to keep our joy hidden is just not right.
We are God loving Christians that smile and pray that we may show others the shining way.
This life is real make no mistake, unlike this world that is so often fake.
We have substitutes of salt, of sugar and meat but Christ is the real substitute most complete.
A lady complained of her wig, her girdle and dental cream and she wanted the real gospel or she would scream.
I listened closely to all she had to say, of how she had lost her joy and could not pray.
She had gone into her closet to watch and pray but for some reason had lost the sight of day.
I explained that she must come out of the closet and into the light, as the life of darkness was not her plight.
She did quite well to watch and pray but neglected to hear what the Lord did say.
I thought it is more than good, your worldly girdle does spare my sight but you need to let go; you're way too tight.
She had quenched the Spirit which is so not right and I explained it was her Spiritual girdle that was way too tight.

Jeremiah 13: 1 Thus saith the Lord unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water. 2. So I got a girdle according to the word of the Lord, and put it on my loins. 3. And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, 4. Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock. 5. So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me. 6. And it came to pass after many days, that the Lord said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there. 7. Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.
1 Thessalonians 5
17 . Pray without
ceasing.18. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19. Quench not the Spirit.
Revelation 3 . 15. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
It seems almost comical how some folks believe that they can have life their way. We have been brought to believe that everyone should care how we react and how we feel about life in general. The truth is that our society has become this, have it my way to the point of being "Me" centered. While visiting Wal-Mart a while back I overheard a conversation where a woman said, "I am going to give them a piece of my mind." I remember thinking to myself, "that shouldn't take too long," because it looked as though she had already given until it hurt.
We have corsets of old and girdles to hide what is unbecoming full figured ness to say the least. We color our hair, use makeup, have cosmetic surgery and go through a wasteland of fad miracle diets, to postpone the inevitable of gravity taking over. The sad part is we have come to the point of the Spiritual girdle. We believe we can cover up the fact that we are out of God's will. You might cover for a while to those around you but the one that matters most, He that knows you like His book, we can never hide. After all, He wrote the book. Then again there are some that hide the fact of God's goodness or at the very least do not live the life that God has given them. By doing so their testimony is of no use to them, those around them or to God.
Folks often do not recognize the fact that they quench the Spirit. They do not allow the Holy Spirit to have complete control in their lives. They worry more about their own performance and forget the one that allows the power to perform. It then is totally possible to possess the Holy Spirit without the Holy Spirit possessing them. They can be a born again Christian, yet not committed and yielding thus missing the joy of their salvation. Some have become so afraid of appearing over spiritual or too hot that they usually become cold. One of the bigger problems facing the church today is not burning up from heat and joy but the worst threat is that of freezing up from becoming so very cold.
Today look the very best you can, yes, even if you have to tighten your girdle but be the best you can possibly be, by loosening your Spiritual girdle. May God Really Bless You!. Keep shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance; you pray for me.
