"Straws That I've Not Carried"
Through this life as I now look back, I've had courage but faith I've often lacked.
Sometimes this life seems much too heavy for my name's sake and often I've wondered how much more can I take.
Often so dark is the night, that I hope and pray most hard for just a glimmer of light.
We've heard it said it was the straw that broke the camel's back and many times I've wondered just how much more can my back lack.
Then comes the light to take that straw away and I give thanks for all the straws that I've not carried this day.

1 Corinthians 10:13 ... There
hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but
God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that
ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to
escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
The devil does all that he can
to persuade mankind that you are the only one with this kind of
sin, temptation and shame.. He wants you to do this so that you
will try to hide this darkness always in your heart.. He also
wants you to look at your troubles, weaknesses and failures and
he will keep them in front of you as often as possible.. Peter
did fine with his stroll on the water until he began
concentrating on the intensity of the storm rather than keeping
his eyes on Jesus.. The instant that he looked on the waves that
could destroy him; he went down in the stormy deadly waters.. I
believe we are often allowed to carry the weights of this life to
draw us to our knees and thereby drawing us closer to our Savior
Jesus Christ.. However, I also believe that if we are to remain
close to Him; we can only do it by keeping our eyes on Him.. We
have troubles all around us everyday.. They may be yours or these
troubles may be others but be assured troubles are a part of this
world.. The weight and stress does get more than heavy and yes it
gets very heavy at times while we have faith and our eyes fixed
on Christ.. God has given us a way for us to know this part of
life and endure, to not only be and know we are winners but that
we are more than conquerers through Jesus Christ.. Today while
the devil is hitting you with his best shot, be more than assured
that God has never lost one battle
yet.. You are a winner so go on winning today.. May God really

when you have a chance; you pray for me.
