Today I looked down and saw a world with burdens huge, but then with awe remembered God is my refuge.
When many troubles at my door do deluge; I bow my heart up to God, my centrifuge.
When often the earth does shake with meaning unclear; I know my Lord is ever awake and never declined His ear.
No matter how dark the day may appear; I know with my Savior there is no fear.
When storms of life loudly roar; I am lifted above the strife to highly soar.
These waters of life will never let me ignore, yet they turn my eyes to heaven evermore.
Today as I barely hang on and face defeat; I'll let go to God without retreat.
As I am sore with pain I'll be still, so God may gain and my life fulfill.
There is love of God and is as a river; where the deeper you prod; the more He will deliver.
If your life is cold and you now shiver; I offer to you not gold but the Giver.
Psalms 46:1 .. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 .. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 .. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. 4 .. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 .. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 .. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7 .. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8 .. Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. 9 .. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. 10 .. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
I sat on the banks of the Tennessee river one day; I thought for a moment just when and how this mighty river got started. I could see that it started with one drop then all along the way; picked up more and more moisture. It faced dams, was sidetracked by storms and some of the water was even pumped out for a while but sooner or later; it would end up in the ocean. The more drops that joined, the stronger they became and the easier it was for that river to head for its destination. I know this is a little dramatic but it is actually the way it is. The same is true with Christians. The more we work together with the prize in sight; the easier and more enjoyable is the journey back home. Our home is heaven and the river's home is the ocean. Any water that decides to go against the current may slow the rivers work but will not stop it. The dams may slow it but never stop it. Today as we face adversity, let us remember we will not nor cannot be stopped. Remember God is our Life, our Power, our River and He is bringing us home. Let's help each other, more to not struggle against the current but let go and go with God. May God Really Bless You! Keep shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance; you pray for me.
