"This Fleeting Day"
There were childhood dreams of life ahead far away and how quickly did pass that fleeting day?
There were days of Captain Kangaroo and each minute was an adventure brand new.
Sunny days warmed our face and wind rustled in the trees, while this simply so our senses did please.
A trip to Grandmas was a journey far away and how quickly did pass that fleeting day?
To ride your bike the joy could not be told, so just when was it that we first became old?
We could play for hours with a very best friend and thought these days would never end.
To kiss your sweetheart and hold their hand was such a thrill and it gave to you a life so real.
To see your child the first time you felt love so pure and felt most sure this day would forever endure.
Life's book has written so quickly each page of this life so short but quick to age.
There are childhood dreams of life far away and how quickly did pass this fleeting day?
Ecclesiastes 11: 8. But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. ..9.. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment...10.. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
I have recently discovered that one of the reasons that we have grandchildren is God is giving us a chance to hold our children as babies once again.. I remember when to hear about a thirty year mortgage seemed like an awful long time.. I have found out you can do thirty years in a snapp.. I simply turned around and my children were grown.. While in the bed sometime back I told my wife that I believed our children were getting old.. She just giggled as if we were still teenagers.. I have decided that I want today to be today.. I want to cherish each moment with my God given family, my friends and so much more that He has continually blessed me with.. I have spent too much time trying to fix things that simply could not be fixed by me, to try to make folks like me that do not even like themselves and to have things I just do not need.. Today let each of us begin to enjoy this life.. Be assured some troubles are here to stay but let me encourage you that so is God.. Today watch the sunset and if you can, do it with someone special.. It might be your husband or wife, a child or a friend but whatever you do; stop for a moment and praise God for the good in life that you are now sharing.. May God Really Bless You!. Keep shining and be as good as you can be and when you have a chance, you pray for me..
