"You're In Alabama"

Today is a day I'm feeling fine with a catfish tugging on my line and lending me a feeling quite sublime, on another Alabama day in the summertime.

Sitting on the porch to way late in the night, pushes this life to be full more of right.

There's a big old mountain so high to climb, but it's alright, cause we've got plenty of time.

Old cowcumber trees are budding first, and now comes a downpour to cure life's thirst.

Little cat squirrels playing in that tree; letting me know we all should be so free.

Yellowhammer is pecking on that tree and it's rhythm echoes just for me.

There's a church with it's steeple majestic tall and just to behold shows my troubles There but small.

From the salty mist to the mountains fair; you're in Alabama with beauty now to share.

Psalms 27: 4 ... One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.

I have come to understand what I now believe is the best way, atleast for me to handle strife.. I love to watch people and observe just how people handle this life.. One man said that he was going to work on removing the stress in his life and I thought to myself good luck.. I have been allowed by God to serve people in many places in America.. We've eaten things we weren't sure what they were.. We've laughed at, been laughed with and we've certainly been laughed at.. While we were in Alabama we met some of the nicest folks.. We fit right in with them, I believe because God has given us the gift of just loving His people.. Sometimes my devotional consisted of merely watching God's creation and giving Him my prayer of thanks.. It should be noted that many go through this life with their eyes on what they want and they take no time to see and give thanks for the bounty that they have already been given.. Due to the fact that I am a Revivalist, we have moved again and again and our family is scattered like good seed, but I have the best family in the world.. I'm not looking to what I want them to be but I am allowed to love them for the great people that they are.. In Alabama I have friends that are our friends forever.. Today as you view life; search for all the gifts God has given you in the past and today.. Oh, you'll still have troubles but you can face them now with a smile.. Be assured there are many more gifts from God yet to come.. Today is beautiful.. Behold it!
